After discussion amongst the committee it has been decided to cancel any further events for the remainder of the year due to the increased risk from Covid. This includes club nights and the Christmas shop.
We understand this may be disappointing for some of you, especially those who utilize the shop to sell their year’s work. The committee talked about various options but felt this was the best course of action to keep our members staffing the shop safe. Unfortunately the opening of the shop coincides with the introduction of the new traffic light system and it is difficult to gauge the intricacies of running our pop up shop during these times, as well as the extra man power that would be required to implement vaccine pass screening.
Likewise with our club nights, the committee considered both our physical venue and the nature of our meetings as well as the demographic usually on site. With the Auckland borders opening soon, it was decided to take a pause on the last club night and end of year BBQ.
The committee will be constantly monitoring the situation and meeting again in December to plan ahead for reopening. Please hang in there! We are planning to be back up and running as normal next year.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
Events at the club are blogged by either Sid Ware or the Treasurer, summarising the club's activities.
