All Saturday mornings 
– If you are new to wood turning, by prior arrangement, you can schedule a mentoring session with one of our experienced members to learn or just refine your skills on any of the DVR lathes in the Club Room

  • Club closed for events during summer holidays
  • Club open in January for tuition for new members and those requiring help with their project. Interested members to please contact Bob Langford

February
  • 2nd - Dremel night by Shane Hewitt (please bring your ear muffs & face masks). Competition: TBC
  • 16th - Carving on the rim of a bowl by Sue Dinkilaker 

March
  • 2nd - AGM - 7:00 p.m. start
  • 16th - Making artwork out of timber scraps by Mike Paora. Competition: Wig Stands

April
  • 6th - Demo by Graham Rigden. Competition: Dremel and/or Carving on rim of a bowl
  • 20th - Resin inlays by Granville Haworth

May
  • 4th - Demo by Trefor Roberts, President of NAW on woodturning techniques. Competition: Based on Graham's demo
  • 18th - Kitchen utensils with all lathes running

June
  • 1st - Jewelry by Bob Langford. Competition: Natural edge piece 
  • 15th - Salt and Pepper grinders by Jim Maloney

July
  • 6th - Bowl saving and picture frames by Granville Haworth. Competition: Jewelry 
  • 20th - Tool sharpening by Shane Hewitt, Ken Port & Granville Haworth (bring your tools, including hollowing tools and grinder) 

August
  • 3rd - Embellishment - Multiple demonstrations. Competition: Bowl saved picture frames
  • 17th - Team design and make from a supplied blank. BYO embellishments

September
  • 7th - No club-night due to Covid-19 lockdown level 3 in Northland
  • 21st - Skew Chisel use by Shane Hewitt, followed by - Fix your mistakes night. Competition: Embellished work

October
  • 5th - Deep hollowing by Hayden Bourke. Competition: Skew projects
  • 19th - Pen night - Multiple demonstrations (CANCELLED due to Covid-19 level 3 lockdown in Northland)

November
  • 2nd - Wooden fruit - all lathes going. No competition
  • 16th - Team demonstrations, Spinning tops, all lathes going. BYO embellishments

December
  • 7th - Chainsaw use, maintenance and log maximisation - (CANCELLED)
  • 21st - BBQ night - (CANCELLED)​
